This painting plays with the marketing gimmick of using cartoons to sell products and services to people, particlarly adults. The figure that you don't know uses it's cartoonish innocence to earn your trust and tries to guide you into following it. Using a loose painting style interweaved with a more traditional cartoon illustration style, I wanted the image to be clear enough to understand, but also falling apart, reminding you of the deception. The paint used is a premium acrylic on a stretched .75" thick canvas with hardware included for hanging.

Where it's been: Exhibition at the Faculty Club, University of Toronto, May 2019.

36" x 48" x 0.75"
